You’ve already seen four of the 26 ornaments that I bought one evening at Macy’s when I missed my train home, then missed another and another as I filled four big shopping bags with penguins. You can see those here and here and here. This week and probably most of next week you can see the rest of the haul. Here’s one of them along with a matching penguin that I bought a year later, yes, back at Macy’s again.
There’s something to be said for a simple design that is done well. There’s nothing fancy about this black and white pair of ceramic penguins, one looking to its side, the other taking a step up with one foot. They are just elegant.
